Site Coming Down Soon

So, a lot has changed. I have decided after working for a while on my game that C++ would be better for my game.

I am also in the mindset of ditching this game’s idea (it kind of rips off minecraft now that I think hard about it) and trying something else. I probably won’t be as public in the other game if I make it, until I have something to show.

I will probably take this site down soon because it is kind of useless at the moment. I have kind of died out on this project. C++ has sparked new ideas for a game, which I won’t mention at this time.
Adios for now

A Daily (maybe enough for a month) Dose Of Math

Hrmm… I have been working with a lot of big numbers that are seemingly pointless. They actually serve a purpose in my video game, for all the background stuff and calculating the vectors for everything. Well, enough ranting here is the dose of numbers (mixed into code):

cubes.put(setcube(new Vector3f((x*cubesize)+offset.x, (y*cubesize)+offset.y, offset.z)), new Vector2f(x, y));

return interpolate(startingvector, endingvector, ((time – startingtime) / (endingtime – startingtime)));

And the boss of all the confusion is right here:

return (double) (1.0 – ((x * (x * x * 15731 + 789221) + 1376312589) & 2147483647) / 1073741824.0);

Yes, seemingly err… Pointless. The numbers are lined up just right so that they fulfill their action the way they are supposed to.

Off topic:

As for the forum, I’m not sure what I’m going to do about that. I turned down the security one notch thinking that I had enough captcha, and then the next morning there were 500 new members each with about 20 posts each. (spambots if you didn’t catch on) Up to this day, I can still see them on the recent visitors list, searching for a way to spam my forum.

Whats Happening to Doc?

Well, you see… Ermm… I have this sickness that is making it very hard to focus. I have been on medication for it for the last few months. Now that I am feeling better, I am back into programming. It has been a while, and I feel like I could do a better job with the init/loop framework so I am redoing it. After all, don’t want a bad game just because I made a sub quality framework…

Other than that, I am into music making (crappy…) and a bunch of other things. I really wish I could make better music, but I know it will take much time and practice.

For those of you who are waiting for a release: I am working hard at it. I want to release it very badly, but I have to have more to show.

Thanks guys!

Random Dev Music

Hello everyone,

I have been making music with LMMS (Linux Multimedia Music Studio). (don’t worry it works on windows and mac) This is the first song I made that doesn’t make me go “Gosh this sounds terrible (delete)”. Making random songs like this will (hopefully) make it easier to make background music for my game. Here the song is:

Thanks for reading!

Whats Happening With TFFS?

Recently my site has been down… I had a version of the game up, but it is so boring that it wasn’t worth really playing. Also it is hard to close on a linux/mac pc. I probably won’t keep that version hosted. I am working on version 1.0.1, and I expect (hopefully) that it will be out by January 2013.

This version will be the first big step for TFFS. It will implement auto updating, infinite (as much as the coordiate integer can hold, but it still supports infinite as long as you can keep cramming numbers into the generator) terrain generation, and building. This is the basis for all the ideas I have, and it will shape how my game works. I am putting a lot of extra effort into it to try and make it flawless and with great performance, but that will probably not be the case, as this is a first time.

So the bottom line is that I am working hard at terrain generation, and working to shape the frame of my game. I hope you are still interested in my game when v1.0.1 comes out!
Thank you for your support!
