About Doc

I am called Doc, as I do not wish to give out my real name. I am the solo developer of TFFS. The reason I started this project was:

  • I wanted to learn more about how a video game works
  • I wanted a video game that is different each time you play it
  • None of the other video games really entertain me very much (excluding minecraft and other similarities)
  • I hope to make a living of of this some day

You might wonder… Why recreate minecraft instead of making a mod? The thing about making a mod is that it still has the same limits of the game you are modding, and it doesn’t give you true freedom to make what you want. I am making this game ultimately to combine minecraft with my own ideas, and a challenge. I believe that challenge is what makes something fun. In minecraft, once you build a hut, you are pretty much safe. I want my game to be challenging.

I believe strongly in freedom of ideas. That means that if someone comes up with an idea, someone else can improve on their idea, or make their own version of it. You might think I only say this because I am using minecraft’s idea. I believe this anyway, and I think that this concept of freedom with ideas would work in any form of trade.

How do I feel about helping other people? I am happy to help other people that want to make a video game, and I believe in giving back to people instead of locking away information once you learn it, and never giving anything back. I will help other indie game developers (Assuming you don’t want me to program a game for you) as long as I have the time to do so. Please go to my forum or email me if you need help!
